Discretionary Trust

Owners of Cyprus immovable property with a title deed can place a Cyprus property in trust. A property placed into a Cyprus trust enables an individual to avoid Cyprus probate and pass assets to beneficiaries without the need for a Cyprus Will. A trust can be used to pass assets to a spouse, children and future generations.

A Cyprus discretionary trust is an inexpensive means of holding assets for the benefit of the settlors chosen beneficiaries. Because the trust is discretionary it can be used for a wide variety of purposes and situations. It is particularly useful for tax and estate planning. Discretionary Trusts offer the means to protect assets during an individual’s lifetime whilst making provision for the future.

For UK domiciled individuals specific regulations apply requiring them to register the trust with the UK authorities. Assets placed into a Cyprus Trust do not always make them free of UK Inheritance Tax.

EWMT tailors all of its Trusts to match the individual requirements of the client.
